Seminar contents
The standard Nakedgrammar seminar runs for three hours and comprises three sections.
| Section | Duration* | Topic |
| 1. | 1.5 hours | The System
First, Simon finds out about you the documents you write and the frustrations you experience. Next, he teaches the principles of successful communication so that you understand the universal purpose of communication, and can recognize for yourself the true purpose of any act of communication you perform. Lastly, Simon shows you just how well equipped you already are to become a competent writer. |
| 2. | 3.5 hours | The Tools
With regular references to the particular types of document you write (and regular mini-tests for practical learning), Simon shows you how your choice of words, punctuation, and style help or hinder your communication goals. He explains the most important and misunderstood issues, and introduces all of the writing rules, tools, tips, and techniques covered in his written communications guidebook (which all seminar attendees receive). |
| 3. | 1.5 hours | The Process
Simon takes you through the five-step Nakedgrammar checklist so that you learn how to put your new skills and understanding into action. Then Simon shows you how to audit your own documents to assess their importance and effectiveness. Last, Simon conducts a workshop session where you edit your own documents (or provided samples) to put into practice what you have learned throughout the day. |
* All times are approximate.
Attendees are not required to take notes during the seminar as all information covered is included in Clear > Concise > Compelling or in handouts.
